The State Concert Russian Folk Orchestra "Virtuosi of Kuban" is a unique at the South Russia professional musical collective. It consists of 45 highly qualified musicians, who qraduated Moscow, St.Petersburg, and Rostov Academies of Music, Krasnodar State University of Culture and Arts, and the other best universities and institutes of Russia.

The orchestra was created in 1993 on the based of Krasnodar Regional Philharmony. In spite of young age, it conforms and develops the traditions of the oldest traditional russian folk orchestras. It includes a wide variety of folk instruments with various timbres and tones, like balalaikas, domras, bayans, gusli, clarions, zhaleykas, reed-pipes, different percussion and other instruments.

The Virtousi's performing style is academic. You can hear a combination of classical austerity, bright originality, delicate nuances, spacious melodiousness, rhythmical precise and timbre variety.

The television company "Kuban" recognized orchestra as the best collective of the year. In 1995 the orchestra received The Independent Award in honour of National Artist composer Gregory Ponomarenko. During the II-nd (1996 in Tula) and III-rd (2000 in Kaluga) national festivals of professional orchestras "Virtuosi of Kuban" was recognized as one of the best orchestras of Russia.
